This is a quick run down on what we ate today (me and 2 kiddos).
Breakfast:
sprouted english muffin with a tablespoon or so of pastured butter and a tablespoon of raw & unfiltered honey topped with shredded unsweetened coconut, glass of raw milk, 2tsps of CLO
I had various supplements and we all had a probiotic.
(The kids were still hungry so I mix a little more butter, honey and coconut together and they ate it. It was like frosting!) It held them until lunch!
Lunch:
leftover burgers (grassfed beef) on half a sprouted bun toasted with butter, green salad, carrots, sauerkraut, pickle
I drank a little Kombucha while fixing lunch. YUM!
Snack:
Watermelon
(we snuck in a few bites of chocolate chip cookies - at least they were made with org. flour, real butter, etc. : ) )
Dinner:
Roasted Chicken, Lentil Rice, Salad (The Lentil Rice was supposed to be soup but ended up more of a pilaf. I guess I will turn it into soup for leftovers.)
few pieces of dark chocolate for me
That's what we ate today. I must say I am stuffed right now. I was planning on homemade ice cream but no way! The kids did not ask for snacks all day. They really seemed to be quite satisfied.
I will soak the oatmeal soon for breakfast tomorrow. We will plan to eat the chicken for lunch tomorrow. I saw a recipe for Salmon Spread. I may make that for dinner tomorrow. We brought in HUGE cucumbers from the garden today. So large that I think I want to try to stuff them.
*The hubby had the same for lunch & dinner - minus the saurkraut & pickles. He's not ready for that yet. I don't think he had breakfast. Maybe one day I will be able to fix it for him before he leaves for work. Baby steps. : )
Baby's Day
This is what the baby had today:
bottle of goat's milk formula
small bowl of yogurt (then more : ) - she loves it!) with added probiotic
strawberry flavored CLO
Bottle of goat's milk formula
Another bottle, extra dose of reg CLO
Another bottle
Chicken Pate with a pinch of sea salt, butter oil, a drop of iodine and her iron supplement
Last bottle with added probiotic

The First Change
After the birth of my second child I found myself extremely tired and run down. I knew that it couldn't be right since I was in my twenties, not really overweight and exercised regularly. I also began having strange anxiety attacks (even when I didn't feel anxious, if that makes any sense) and heart palpitations. I went to doctors and nothing was wrong with me. But I still had NO energy to play with my children. I was eating a typical low fat, low or no red meat diet. Some other things occurred at the same time to cause me to start doing my own research and not trust doctors completely. -That is for another blog.- I read about green drinks full of chlorophyll and other nutrients that would help my body detox and give me energy. I found one and although it tasted HORRIBLE I kept drinking. I did eventually learn to like it. Amazingly, I started to feel better. Not great but definitely better. I still drink one today. Not the same one. This one actually tastes pretty good. Green drinks are a great place to start. They help detox your body slowly and gently. They help promote regularity and good digestion (which is extremely important). Good topic for another day. So go try a green drink. I really like the one that has greens plus berries. It's good. My kiddos even drink with OJ & water though.

My First Post
Since this is my first post bear with me as I learn how to collect my thoughts.
Let me tell you a little bit about me. I am a mother and a wife. I am not a doctor nor do I have a degree in nutrition. I have done lots of reading and research on healthy eating. We don't eat at fast food restaurants and we rarely eat at a restaurant. I don't struggle with my weight and our children are rarely sick. I also love food and enjoy eating. People often ask me what we eat.
So that is the purpose of this blog. I will share how I got our family to where we are today. Our diet is not perfect but it is better.
